The start of 2023. Traveling and Seeking Opportunity

It's the only way to take off the New Year in the one stop that the famous ball drops

Thank you readers for checking out the first issue of Victor Garrido's News Letter! Over the next coming weeks, I'll be testing the cadence, format and content style. Feedback and topics suggestions are encouraged. Today, I'll discuss some of my favorite things: love, people, social algorithms and many more.

With gratitude,

Experiencing New York City for the first time by myself was a crucial experience for me at the beginning of 2023. They say that it's the city that never sleeps. After arriving to the Newark airport, my challenge was to see what form of transportation I would use to get to my hotel. Options included, the local taxi, requesting a Uber or even asking a stranger to see if they are willing to get me closer to my destination. All options seem viable to me. Avoiding the cost of time and money, the best option for me at the time was to order a cab. They had areas that were dedicated to a pool of taxis that would take you to your destination.

Being placed in an area of the unknown, I quickly felt a light of taking the steps to where I want to be. I quickly picked up the nature of the people driving in a whole different nature. The city has a notch that just goes on a faster level. It was easy for me to adapt.

What I had noticed is that, there is no shortage of the amount of people always on the move. This indication is what allows the whole surrounding for everything to be moving fast. The fast amount of people all congregated in one area all moving in their own direction is astonishing. What makes it hard for most people is that the cost of living in New York is hard for the locals and the travelers. While I was on my ride on the taxi, I had a conversation with the driver and they had opened up that they pay for a service that allows them to bypass the tolls on each pass they go through. The driver had stated to me that it cost him $300 a month. That in-itself tells a lot about the sacrifices of ambient of costs of transportation.

Victor's recommendations

  1. It's best to wake up early in the day as you can take full advantage of the energy of the sun and if you have the accessibility to work from home, I recommend going to your local coffee shop.

2. January seems to be the time where people are in the situation where people are a sorta jumping to remembering how to work again. Sort of to say a sober January. No need to take yourself too hard

3. If you have any stories to share, make it a fun little story and tweet about it.

IF you share this with a friend and they subscribe, I'll give you a shout out in the following issue!
