Meta Is Testing "Paid" Verified Checkmarks

The "verified" check gets a new definition.

Meta has recently announced that they are testing the feature to sell users “the verified” check mark to users on Facebook and on Instagram. The user can pay $11.99 on the web and $14.99 per month on mobile. By paying, the user will have increased visibility on the platform, a higher priority on customer support and more details in the works.

Meta is testing these features out to Australia and to New Zealand first. Then overtime will arrive in more countries. With these features, Zuckerberg informs that this feature is able to increase authenticity and security across their services.

These features are being compared to the similar structure of Twitter Blue subscription. As the priority is to have users pay to be higher ranked in the platform. In addition, users who sign up for the service will get digital stickers from Stories and Reels. (The digital currency for the platform) . There is an ongoing trend to the restructure of applying to be “verified”

The restructure I believe will be a new format of individual online users who can afford to have the disposable income or users who use the service extensively. I speculate that these chances are intended for business growth and for the roll-out of the coming future of the individual use in the Metaverse that Mark has been rolling out, slower than what Mark had been saying for. I predict that these social subscription services will be a change shift for the platforms in the coming years.

During these times, there have been a lot of noticeable changes being made to many social platforms and other digital products that all involve eCommerce, AI and individual influences, all who follow the digital space will follow the trends of these social platforms.
